Louisiana Iris Conservation Initiative
Volunteer and make a difference.
We welcome all volunteers to give us a hand in anyway they can. Most of our volunteer events require physical labor to dig or plant irises. We try to keep the length of the event to three hours during
warm weather and occasionally all day during cool weather. However, all events are flexible in that each volunteer can work for whatever length of time is comfortable for the person. It is very common to have volunteers of all ages at our events.
Help is often needed manning the base station or sorting through the irises as them come in from the field, so there are jobs that require less physical labor. During the iris bloom season there will also be opportunities for helping by holding open information booths at area refuges.
All volunteers are asked to sign a waiver of liability prior to the event.
Email us today with any questions or to get on our volunteer list to receive an email when an event is planned.
